J.R.R. Tolkien (1892-1973) was a highly inventive writer. Tolkien is most famously known for his works “The Hobbit” and “Lord of the Rings,” both of which have been adapted to well-known and well-loved movies. Tolkien’s mind knew no bounds, and through his mind was born fictional lands, languages, and races. Tolkien was best known for his ingenious inventions, showing that being a great writer requires more than just writing. Tolkien’s fiction began as bed-time stories he read to his children, and slowly they became books that the public loved. Tolkien is currently in the Top 50 greatest British writers, and his work is still well-loved across the globe.
